The Stony Creek PTO consists of parents and staff members who devote their time and efforts to enrich the school experience for students, staff, and families.
The PTO promotes quality family time by organizing a multitude of fun-filled family events including Family Fun Nights, Book Fairs, Breakfast Buddies, Holiday Shop, March Madness Junior Edition, and a Spring Carnival.
The PTO also encourages children to learn the value of community service through donation drives for neighborhood schools, for soldiers overseas, and for numerous local and national charities. "Giving Night" provides families an opportunity to come together with hands-on activities benefiting the community, and students initiate their own community-service ideas and projects through monthly meetings of "Community Kids Club".
Communication is a vital part of the PTO. Informative and colorful weekly emails are sent to Stony Creek families, detailing the upcoming week's events and important announcements. A wiki page includes links to forms, Flickr photographs, and a Facebook page (http://bit.ly/stonypto).
The PTO strives to accommodate the busy schedules of our parents. Meetings are held several times throughout the year, alternating between 9:30 am and 7:00 pm, and numerous volunteer opportunities encourage parents to share their time during the school day, at evening events, or at their leisure.
